Mixed farming is where crops and animals are grown and kept on the same piece of land at the same time. A farmer cultivates his/her land and grows crops while at the same time keeping farm animals on that farm.
On the other hand, mixed cropping, is where different crops are grown at the same time in the same piece of land. Mixed cropping is where a farmer has different crops in the land to make most use of the soil resources.

Mixed cropping is the growing of two or more crops simultaneously intermingled with each other without a definite row pattern with the object of minimizing risk of crop failure. Mixed farming is a method by which the farmer uses some part of his land for additional activities like cattle rearing poultry or fishing in order to earn additional income and minimize risks associated with agriculture.
John Wick
In mixed cropping or mixed farming, two independent crops are mixed together and grown in an area, whereas the intercropping is a multiple cropping techniques where two or more crops are grown in proximity. Mixed cropping and intercropping are essentially two separate farming techniques with specific goals.
