In agrophysics, the materials and the processes involves in the production of an agriculture is studied. This involves the agroecology, biotechnology, genesis, nutritional science, agricultural technology, etc. This study helps in preventing the hazards in the agricultural objects including soil, plants and food and environment. This involves not only the plants health, even the quality of raw postharvest and food quality.

This is a discipline of natural science which is, as the name indicates, the coupling of agronomy with physics. More than agriculture the increased crop hazards and the need for studying the complex plant- soil system, the need for improved and specialized science in the agriculture field this result an emerging field called as agrophysics. This field is related to biophysics, where biology and physics is involved.
In biology, all the living organisms are included. Whereas in agrophysics, only the plants, animals, the atmosphere, soil, biodiversity and their growth are studied. In this subject, agroecosystem is studied. This system involves biological objects, biotope and biocoenosis which are affected by human activity. The study is done by physical science.
Andrew Pel
Agrophysics is a branch of science bordering on agronomy and physics, whose objects of study are the agroecosystem – the biological objects, biotope and biocoenosis affected by human activity, studied and described using the methods of physical sciences. Agrophysics is closely related to biophysics but is restricted to the biology of the plants, animals, soil and an atmosphere involved in agricultural activities and biodiversity. It is different from biophysics in having the necessity of taking into account the specific features of biotope and biocoenosis, which involves the knowledge of nutritional science and agroecology, agricultural technology, biotechnology, genetics etc.
John Wick
Agrophysics was defined as “a science that studies physical, physicochemical, and biophysical processes in the system ‘the soil – the plants – the active layer of the atmosphere’ as well as main principles of the production process, physical properties of the system components and of various agricultural products.”
